THE BEST EXPERIENCE DAYS IN GAUTENG

Looking for something to do in Gauteng?

With lively Johannesburg as its capital, Gauteng boasts plenty of unique activities, cutting edge cuisine, and stunning natural beauty.

Literally translated in the Sotho languages, Gauteng means ‘place of gold’, aptly named after the economic boom after gold was discovered in Johannesburg. Being named after a precious metal sets expectations high for this South African province, but we think that Gauteng lives up to its glittering namesake.

Comprising metropolitan Johannesburg, administrative capital Pretoria, the stunning Cradle of Humankind, small but perfectly formed Cullinan, and many more unique neighbourhoods besides, Gauteng is an adventure waiting to be had!

Read on to discover our top activities to do in Gauteng, whether you’re an adrenaline junkie, petrol head, or in desperate need of some pampering…

Supercar Driving Experience - R 2,999 +

If you’re looking for an experience gift for someone who loves to drive, or a fast-paced day out in Pretoria, this supercar driving experience ticks all the boxes. Starting at R 2,999 for one car, this experience allows you to choose between one and five sleek supercars to live your speed demon dreams!

You’ll arrive at Zwartkops Raceway in Johannesburg for registration and a safety briefing on track rules and driving etiquette, before being taken trackside to choose your vehicle – or vehicles – for the day.

There's the Porsche GT3, Lamborghini LP560-4, Audi R8 V10, Nissan GTR, Ferrari 430 and more to choose from, so you're granted a few minutes to make the all-important decision. The expert instructor will take you through the car's controls before starting the engine, then you'll get to enjoy three laps in each vehicle to really see how they handle!

The all-important question is… which will be your favourite?

Beginners Fly Fishing Lesson in Gauteng - R 400

For those who love nothing more than a peaceful activity in nature, this group fly fishing lesson is the perfect excuse to get away from it all and relax in beautiful surroundings.

This 2.5 hour group lesson takes place at the Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa, so you can take in the incredible natural landscape as you greet your instructor and chat about what's in store for your session. You'll first learn about the fascinating history of fly fishing, and go over the various equipment used in this peaceful activity.

The instructor will show you how to choose the correct flies to fish with and how to cast the line. Then for the part you've been waiting for, your first fly fishing experience! Guides will be on hand to ensure your flies are tied on properly, and to give advice so that hopefully by the end of the session you'll have caught (and released) your very own fish.
