WINE TOURS IN SOUTH AFRICA

Since launching Experience Days South Africa in 2017, we've noticed just how many scenic wine tours there are available for residents to enjoy - something that doesn't exist in rainy England! With the Cape Winelands on your doorstep, it's no wonder tour companies have been inventing new and innovative ways of taking in the sights and establishments. From private Tuk-Tuk Tours to group Bike Tours, Tram Tours for kids to Wine Tours with Whale Spotting, there's a broad range of experiences that bring the Winelands to life.

The incredible sandstone mountains of the Cape Winelands District Municipality are a sight in themselves, but also provide the perfect landscape for vine cultivation due to the sprawling fertile valleys. For those interested in the wine-making process, an in-depth guided experience like the Full Day Wine Tasting Tour in Stellenbosch is informative and entertaining. Each stop on the tour has been carefully selected by the guides after lengthy discussions with the local estates, so you're guaranteed an educational experience with plenty of wine!

For a more unstructured self-guided tour, the famous Hop-On Hop-Off Tram Tour in Franschhoek is just the ticket. Choose from the various routes and jump aboard a classically restored tram, heading to a number of farms and wine estates that you can enjoy at your leisure. Each estate has something different to offer, whether it's fine dining, wine tasting sessions, or jungle gyms for the kids, so you can treat the family to a day out or spend a romantic afternoon with a loved one.

Our newest wine tour offerings come in the form of Bike Tours, available in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch (plus a Food Tour in Cape Town - which isn't a wine tour but we felt it needed mentioning anyway!). Choose from a range of options that starts with a half day Franschhoek Bike Tour & Wine Tasting, all the way to the full day Platinum Stellenbosch Bike Tour & Wine Tasting, covering a distance of around 21km! Knowledgeable guides make these tours uniquely exciting, perfect for adventurous individuals with a passion for wine.

Check out our whole range of Western Cape Wine Tours for more gift inspiration, and treat your favourite wine connoisseur to a trip they'll never forget!
