With 2018 being only four days away, most people will have already decided what they're going to change or start afresh to make the coming year better than the one before. However, if you're still struggling to come up with a realistic resolution, we've put together this blog post to inspire you! Whether you want to tick off a bucket list item or learn a new skill, we've got you covered...

Learn To Fish

Fly-fishing is a fantastic way to get out of the house, and is a thoroughly enjoyable sport that's delicate as it is rewarding. Located in the stunning Cradle of Mankind Heritage Area, you can join a group fly-fishing lesson in Gauteng or be brave and book a private session to get that one-to-one expertise - there are even lessons for kids! Fly-fishing makes a great hobby that you can continue to develop throughout the year, and make use of South Africa's picturesque landscape.

Go Skydiving

Skydiving may seem cliché, but 'typical' resolutions are typical for a reason! A lot of people think you have to be young and fit to go skydiving, but we're here to tell you that's not true - did you know the oldest person to complete a skydive was 101? With locations across the country that operate throughout the year, there's no excuse not to take the plunge and take on the most daring of feats this year!

Learn a New Craft

If you prefer throwing yourself into projects rather than out of planes, then take a look through our Lessons & Classes category and find the inspiration to start something new. Head to Africa's first Perfume Museum for a unique blending workshop, or turn your sweet tooth into a skill by learning how to decorate cakes with silky ganache in Cape Town. But our favourite of the bunch? Flower arranging workshops in Durban, Gauteng and Cape Town! Not only can you learn the techniques behind making beautiful floral bouquets, but you can decorate your house for the rest of the year!

Go Shark-Diving

Well, this is South Africa after all. It would be a shame to live in a country that's such a hot-spot for these majestic creatures, then not experience them in their natural habitat! You can be brave and snorkel with sharks in Durban, or stick to the comfort of a cage with a number of diving experiences along the coast. Shark diving is completely safe and utterly exhilarating, so get out there and conquer the depths this year!

Those are our top picks for 2018 Resolutions, but there are plenty more online if you want look further! We'd also love to see what you get up to in the New Year, so feel free to share any pictures with us on Facebook.

Here's to an epic New Year!
