Enjoy a fully guided hiking tour of the incredible Swartberg Mountains. You’ll spend eight and a half hours exploring this area of natural beauty, making your way along the Swartberg Pass and ascending 900 metres to reach an incredible view.
Your experience begins when you meet your hiking guide at the Southern foothills of the mountains. They’ll provide a brief introduction to you and the rest of the intrepid hikers before you set off on your adventure. You’ll ascend the mountains as a group with your guide leading the way, spotting local plant life and getting some great exercise as you hike towards the summit. As you traverse the Swartberg Pass’ unique gravel surface, you’ll learn about its status as a National monument from your guide. Finally, the summit of the mountain presents an incredible panoramic view over the Great Karoo – so don’t forget your camera! Exhilarated and presumably very hungry, you’ll then head to the nearby town of Prince Albert for a light lunch before further exploring the Great Karoo landscape via the northern slopes of the Swartberg Mountains. Admire the diverse succulents, karroid bush and the 60 metre high waterfall in Meiringspoort before reluctantly returning to the meeting point.
