Spier Farm was established in 1692, in the western shadow of the Hottentots Holland Mountain Range. Today, its fertile grounds and gabled farmhouses are flourishing, as a growing awareness fuels innovation and breathes new life into old practices. Here, wine, food, art and landscape combine to offer a visitor experience like no other.
This two-hour tour is a chance to explore the farm at sundown, aboard your own off-road Segway. The session begins on the farm's Segway training and obstacle course, where you'll get to grips with these futuristic personal vehicles. Next, you’ll follow your guide onto the farm and learn all about Spier's ingenious bio-dynamic farming techniques, including the unique water recycling and re-energising plant. You’ll pass through the various vineyards, and admire a memorable sunset over distant Table Mountain. Finally, two of you can share a complimentary bottle of wine, and savour the twilit atmosphere of this remarkable place.
