Tours depart from Central Beach, Plettenberg Bay, where you’ll report to the Adventure hut. After signing in, your guides will give a short briefing and provide all the necessary equipment, including polarised sunglasses. You’ll then board the ‘Robberg Express’, a 7.6-metre RIB, and launch from the beach into the bay. The boat will follow a 90-minute inshore route towards the Robberg Peninsula, with a strong (80%) chance of shark sightings. The bay is also home to dolphins, penguins and a variety of rare birdlife—so be sure to keep a lookout! Luckily, when you reach the Robberg Nature Reserve and Marine Protected Area, you can’t miss its 6000-strong Cape fur seal colony. Bring a camera and share a magical moment with some of the ocean’s most remarkable creatures!
